Katharina Diehl

Katharina is a PhD candidate at the Department of Clinical Neuro and Developmental Psychology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, funded by Kennis over Zien and Bartiméus Fonds. Her research focuses on the education and labor market participation of people with visual impairments. Using large-scale administrative data from Statistics Netherlands and advanced quantitative methods, through her studies we gain insights into the current prospects of people with VI on the labor market, how to predict labor market inactivity using machine learning, and what policies have what effect on labor market participation of people with VI. This quantitative work is complemented by qualitative research, synthesizing expert and stakeholder perspectives on barriers and potential solutions to improve labor market participation.
