Loes Wauters is the program director of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Research Program at the Kentalis Academy, Royal Kentalis, Utrecht, the Netherlands. She leads the research program focusing on deaf and hard-of-hearing people and the improvement of practice in both care and education. She is also an endowed professor at the Behavioral Science Institute, Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands; her chair focuses on the upbringing and education of deaf and hard-of-hearing children and adolescents. Loes is the chair of the national expertnetwork on education of deaf and hard-of-hearing students (Sprong Vooruit). Her research studies the development of deaf and hard-of-hearing people and the factors that impact this development. Within Driven she is involved in the projects on mental health and labor market participation of deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
