Presentation Sounding board Driven: Mental health of DHH adults in the Netherlands

Deaf/hard-of-hearing

Presenting the results of two articles, a systematic review into the differences of mental disorder prevalence, incidence, and severity between deaf and hard of hearing adults and typically hearing adults aged 18-60, and a prevalence study into the prevalences of mental disorders of DHH adults and TH adults in the Netherlands aged 18-60.

The sounding board meets in person four times throughout the research project, with each session lasting at least two hours and focusing on the mental health of deaf and hard-of-hearing adults in the Netherlands.

The goal is to gain insight into the specific challenges surrounding mental health and access to care, ensuring the perspectives of deaf and hard-of-hearing adults are central to the research.

During each meeting, the PhD candidate presents their work, discusses it with the group, and gathers input for further analysis.
