Chris van Klaveren

Chris holds a PhD in Mathematical Economics from the University of Amsterdam. He is Professor Empirical Methodological Innovation at the department Clinical, Neuro- & Developmental Psychology of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is director of the Amsterdam Center for Learning (ACLA) and Education Lab Netherlands and served as a researcher at the World Bank in Washington DC. In his current research he combines causal and predictive models, as well as insights from behavioural psychology to achieve more effective and efficient education, labour market, criminal and clinical outcomes. He is one of the initiators of the Driven. Within Driven, he supervises the research projects aimed at better understanding the relationships between labor market participation, education, and mental health of deaf and hard-of-hearing people and people with visual impairments.
